Constant Duval (1877-?)
Constant (Leon) Duval, was a prolific posterist
for railway companies in the 1910s and 1920s. Constant
Duval often equipped Brittany with a heat light,
through landscapes chatoyants where dominate the
yellow and orange colours. Ferns does not make departures
from the rule and the sun bathes the accesses of
the castle, wrapping yellow reflections structures
and vegetation. The posters of Constant Duval carry
the mark of the painter who creates the image by
small keys. Interior Brittany and that of the cities
did not give place to the abundance of posters which
knew the Breton coasts, but some beautiful images
nevertheless encouraged the tourists to discover
less attended places. and abroad. His book A Brush with Life
was published in 1969.
