Jean-Louis
Forain, a French painter and illustrator, born in 1852,
and joined the French Army and fought as a soldier in World
War 1 at the age of 62! He was a leading caricaturist
in Paris and owes much to Daumier. He published an edition
of prints of his first hand drawings of the devastation
of WW1. Regularly
contributed to Le Figaro. Close friends with Edgar Degas.
